PORT ROYAL – KICKSTARTER NOW LIVE!
June 5, 2024A look at Campaigns in Port Royal
June 7, 2024Ahoy there loyal hands! Mike from Firelock here to talk a little bit about Port Royal for current players of Blood & Plunder and why you should come take a look at the Kickstarter if you haven’t already.
Use Your Existing Collection
The most obvious advantage that you’ve certainly all realized by this point is that your existing collection of minis and terrain are totally compatible with this game. Port Royal is a completely different game than Blood & Plunder, but it still shares the same DNA, and even the same type of stats and the same points system. That means you can play out smaller skirmishes using any of your favorite models and factions in addition to those provided with the game.
Compatible Components
Another reason to go check out what we have on offer is the fact that both games will share the same range of minis and terrain. The new individual resin model sprues are among my favorites of the new options. These are especially good for use as any of the standard commanders found in the Raise the Black expansion since they can be armed to match the units they will be joining and the different head options add some excellent customization options.
Another useful component of course is the punchboard and 3d printable terrain. These are sure to be great additions to your Blood & Plunder battlefields. Oh, and did I mention that the core box includes the highly sought after Box of Plunder Sprue from the Raise the Black Kickstarter? It’s got some nice extra bits to customize your minis (including certain animals and weapon combinations that can’t be mentioned) and some additional characters to add to your collection.
Grow Your Local Community
One of our main goals with Port Royal, is to use it as an easy access point for new players who may be a bit unsure of Blood & Plunder. Port Royal can be the perfect access point to get your friends and family who may have some interest in the setting, but are perhaps a bit intimidated by the game. The game box includes everything players need to play, including rulers, tokens, and terrain and a starting company in the game can be as small as 4 models. It’s also a low cost buy in at only $79 for a complete game!
Well, I’ve done all I can to convince you at this point other than threaten you, but as this is an article, I don’t know who you are so that isn’t even possible.
