October 18, 2018We understand that for plenty of miniature gamers, a force builder is a necessity. The wait is over for our new builder, which is now equipped with all force options to help you eliminate any guesswork. You can arrive at your next battle with a fully customized list prepared, and you can conveniently access it either on a screen or a printed sheet.
Those new to miniature gaming might be wondering, what’s a force builder?
A force builder is a tool to help you streamline the creation of your list. We’ve assembled all of our units, commanders, ships, and weapons in one easily accessible place so you can simply click on items to form a list. The builder features helpful prompts to keep you on track so you know your force is legal. It may warn you that you have too many support units vs core units, or the display at the top of the page might indicate that you’re approaching or surpassed the allotted amount of points for the current list. With that in mind, we’d like you to know that perks include:
It’s free
The Blood and Plunder Force Builder is an entirely free-to-use tool that we’re hosting to make the game more convenient and accessible for all players.
No math!
The Force Builder auto-calculates your points for you as you add things or subtract them from your list, helping to ensure that you don’t fall victim to a bad calculation that throws off your entire force.
Instant validation
The Force Builder also keeps tabs on the changes you’re making and will alert you if, for example, you have too many support units and not enough core units in your force. The builder is designed so that you can choose a faction and a commander, and you will be presented with additional core and support options based on your primary decisions. That way there’s no confusion as to which units you’re allowed to enlist! You can also adjust your points limit and see how many points you’ve used of your allotment at the top of the web page.
Save it for later
Force lists can be saved for future use (and you can easily log in with Facebook using the prompt at the top of the page) and there’s currently no cap on the amount of lists you can keep. There’s also, of course, the option to print the force(s) you’ve built and you can opt for a larger font as well as choose whether or not you’d like your printout to include the Special Rules for your list.
Try, then buy
And finally, if you love your list or enjoy using the Force Builder to create theoretical crews that you might not have in your possession just yet, you can use the button at the top of the page to add the whole kit and caboodle to your cart (and you can, of course, remove anything that you don’t need) and checkout right from the Firelock website!
We expect this new tool to be a convenient assistant to our players and we look forward to hearing the thoughts and feedback of the community.
For now, we’ll see you at sea to take on the pursuit of Blood & Plunder!
